Younis Khan hit a polished century as Pakistan probables registered a convincing 82-run victory over Lahore Panthers in the second practice match at the Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan probables, batting first, scored 271 before being dismissed in 48 overs and then completed a fine performance by restricting the opponents to 189 for three from their quota of overs.

Younis Khan, who has been a victim of selectors musical chair with players, slammed a brilliant 96-ball 107 that included three sixes and nine scorching boundaries.

Younis, adjudged Man-of-the-Match, featured in two big partnerships when he added 125 off 135 balls for the third wicket with Salim Elahi and then put on 78 with Misbah-ul-Haq.

Younis' innings was terminated by lanky paceman Shabbir Ahmad who was rewarded for his accuracy, line and length with four for 33.

Salim Elahi, who has cemented his place in the national side because of his consistent performance at the top of the order, contributed 68 off 78 balls with eight boundaries.

Chasing a formidable target, none of the Lahore Panthers batsmen took the challenge except opener Taufeeq Umer who hit an attractive 70 from 92 balls with 10 elegant boundaries.

Taufeeq added 74 runs for the first wicket with Mohammad Ramazan but their partnership consumed 109 balls which made the task even more difficult for the following batsmen.

Naveed Lateef and Faisal Iqbal both scored 42 runs each but the latter had the satisfaction of picking up the best fielder's award for his four catches in the evening session.
