Millns calls it a day
Notts CCC Media Release - 2 July 2001

Nottinghamshire pace bowler David Millns has announced that he is to retire from first-class cricket.

David captured 553 first-class wickets and scored more than 3,000 first-class runs during his career with both Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

He played in two County Championship winning teams with Leicestershire before rejoining his home county for the 2000 season.

But his first-class appearances during the 2001 season have been restricted to just one match against Sussex due to injury.

Nottinghamshire Cricket Manager Clive Rice commented: "We are sorry to lose David as his experience as a strike bowler and very useful lower order batsman added depth to the Nottinghamshire squad.

"We thank him for his contribution to Nottinghamshire cricket and wish him and his family every happiness in his retirement."
