Uganda and Namibia boosted their hopes of advancing to the playoff round of the 2001 ICC Trophy with impressive victories here Wednesday.

In the day's most exciting match at Eglinton Flats grounds, Argentina grabbed a five-wicket victory over Malaysia who lost the game after scoring 240 runs for six. R. Madhavan slammed a flawless unbeaten century. He hit nine boundaries in his 125-ball knock of 105.

Argentina built their innings through Pablo Ferguson (67) and Marias Paterlini (66) who shared a third-wicket partnership of 110.

At Ajax, East and Central Africa registered their maiden win of the tournament with a 65-run triumph over Israel.
