The terms and conditions of the newly set up Committees of the Pakistan Cricket Board were discussed at a meeting held at the PCB Headquarters Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Sunday, presided over by Lt General Tauqir Zia, Chairman PCB. These will be prepared and become operative within three days.

The meeting also discussed the domestic season in detail and decided to bring changes in conformity with the new National Administrative order being ushered in the country next month. The Domestic Structure Committee, working under Iqbal Qasim and assisted by Sirajul Islam Bokhari, was asked to submit recommendations in this regard within 7 - 10 days, which will envisage participation of all districts in the domestic season. However, the new system will be fully applicable from the next year when the new National Administrative order will become fully functional.

The Chairman of the National Umpiring Council, Syed Mahboob Shah, gave a presentation to the Chairman PCB envisaging formation of a secretariat of the Council and on training and education of the existing umpires and induction of fresh blood in umpiring. The main purpose of this is to provide a structure for producing elite umpires and for improving the overall standard and education level of the umpires in the country. Exchange of umpires with other countries to stand in each other's domestic season may also take place.

The Development Committee also put up its budget recommendations for the development of infrastructure and nomination of freshly qualified curators to improve pitches for the international and domestic matches.

The Manager of the Pakistan Cricket Team, Mr Yawar Saeed, who toured England recently, also submitted his report, appreciating the performance and conduct of the team members during the tour besides giving his recommendations. The report will be considered by the Board for further action.

Mudassar Nazar, the Chief Coach of Cricket Academy, also met the Chairman to brief him about Pakistan 'A' team's successful tour of Sri Lanka and presented the Trophy won by the team for winning the unofficial test series. He also discussed the performance of the players with the Chairman.

A committee under the Legal Advisor has been formulated with a mandate of studying the Constitution of PCB, Associations and election procedures besides revising all the previous contracts, signed by the board. The Committee will also have a local lawyer, Mr Shahzad on it and will work initially for 3 months. It will submit its report within six weeks.
