Seconds go down at Southampton
Richard Walsh - 13 July 2001

Somerset Seconds lost their Championship match against Hampshire at Southampton today by 76 runs. In their second innings the Cidermen were all out for 146, with wicket-keeper James Knott top scoring with 46.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the match for Somerset was the bowling of Matt Bulbeck who returned match figures of 9 for 67.

The draw for the semi-finals of the one-day competition will be made known early next week, but it is thought that the three other teams through to the semi-final stage are Middlesex, Surrey and Yorkshire
