Australia keep same side for Second Test
CricInfo - 18 July 2001

Australia will field an unchanged side in the Second Test at Lord's starting tomorrow. Injury concerns were allayed when Matthew Hayden (wrist) and Brett Lee (rib) both came through fitness tests and practised today.

It means Australia have named the same line-up that claimed an innings and 118-run victory in the opening Test at Edgbaston.

Damien Fleming had pressed his case for selection in place of Lee by taking match figures of 8-97 in the tour game against Somerset early this week.

But captain Steve Waugh said: "Brett is a wicket-taking bowler and at his best he will really threaten England with his pace.

"It wasn't an easy decision. Damien's a quality bowler and swings the ball around - he put up a good case for selection."

Team: Slater, Hayden, Ponting, M Waugh, S Waugh (capt), Martyn, Gilchrist (wkt), Warne, Gillespie, Lee, McGrath.
