On the eve of the CricInfo Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford, Somerset Coach Kevin Shine said: "This is a big match for us. We are currently second in the table and will be looking to take maximum points."

The squad of 12 who have made the trip to the north-east include Matt Bulbeck, who has has some impressive returns for the seconds since recovering from an injury that has kept him out of first-team contention for a number of weeks.

"The final place in the team tomorrow will probably be a toss-up between Kerr and Bulbeck," the coach said.

The team will be chosen from: Holloway, Bowler, Burns, Cox, Lathwell, Turner, Dutch, Blackwell, Johnson, Jones, Bulbeck and Kerr.
