Worcester Seconds have the edge at Taunton
Richard Walsh - 18 July 2001

After losing the whole of the first day to the weather, Worcestershire Seconds had the edge over Somerset at close of play on Wednesday.

Worcestershire batted first and were all out for 225, with wicket-keeper James Pipe top scoring with 40 and former Somerset player Nick Boulton making 34.

For Somerset Joe Tucker took 4 for 56, and Pete Trego 2 for 48. There was also an impressive spell of 18 overs 3 maidens, 2 wickets for 43 from Wes Durston.

In reply Somerset lost Matt Wood very early on before rain forced the players off the field. When they returned briefly Trego was given out LBW and the Cidermen closed the day on 6 for 2, with Chris Hunkin and Arul Suppiah the not out batsmen.
