Timms on song in Somerset Under-17's victory over Hampshire

Opening bat Richard Timms was in the runs again as Somerset Under-17's recorded a victory over Hampshire at King Bruton last week.

The visitors won the toss and batting first were all out for 262, with Steve Davis being the pick of the Somerset bowlers taking 4 for 82 from his 28 overs.

In reply Luke Stokes and Timms shared an opening partnership of 104 before Stokes was out for 67. 15-year-old Timms also shared in a second wicket stand of 44 with Daryl Cocks (24) and a third wicket stand of 57 with James Hildreth (40), before being dismissed himself after a chanceless 70.

Somerset passed their opponents total for the loss of nine wickets to earn 18 valuable points.
