Staffordshire and Yorkshire unbeaten after Day Two of Women's County Championships
CricInfo - 30 July 2001

Staffordshire and Yorkshire have continued their unbeaten run in Division One after Day Two of the Women's County Championships at Cambridge University.

Yorkshire, who defeated Berkshire in the opening round on Saturday, easily disposed of Nottinghamshire by nine wickets at Clare College. Kathryn Leng followed up a tight ten-over spell of 2/13 to score 50 not out in Yorkshire's nine-wicket victory.

Staffordshire completed an impressive 101-run victory over Kent at Kings College, while in the remaining Division One game on Sunday, Berkshire opened their account with an easy 81-run win over Surrey.

Surrey and Kent share the bottom of the first division ladder after two days. Today's clash between Yorkshire and Staffordshire at Pembroke College will determine an outright leader at the midway stage of the five-day competition. Other Division One games on Monday are Kent v Surrey (Downing), and Berkshire v Nottinghamshire (Queens).

Derbyshire, Somerset and Sussex were Sunday's winners in Division Two. In Division Three, Essex defeated Warwickshire, while Wiltshire fell victim to Middlesex by a margin of 270 runs.
