Injury deprives England of Caddick
CricInfo - 6 June 2001

Andy Caddick has been ruled out of the England team for the first two games of the NatWest Series, against Pakistan at Edgbaston tomorrow and Australia in Bristol on Sunday.

Caddick has a back muscle problem, but hopes to return for the game at Lord's on Tuesday against Pakistan.

"He's had it before and managed to bowl through it and it's settled down. It just hasn't settled," England coach Duncan Fletcher said.

The news will come as a blow to the England squad who have come to rely on Caddick's miserly and demanding performances with the ball in both Test and one-day cricket.

The England management are looking at calling up another bowler into the 14-man squad.
