Under player movement regulations set down by the ACB, States must have signed a minimum of 14 players by June 8th, allocating 90 percent of their player payment pool. All states must finalise the complete list of contracted players and fully allocate their player payment pool by September 30.

Newcomers to the Redbacks squad are fast bowler Mick Miller, batsmen Ben Higgins and Nathan Adcock (previously in the 1999/2000 squad) as well as Rookies Cameron Borgas, Matthew Weekes and Mark Cosgrove. All three Rookies were members of the South Australian Cricket Academy last year and have been included in the Commonwealth Bank Cricket Academy Squad this season.
