Upbeat Indians in relaxed mood
26 June 2001

It was a totally relaxed atmopshere at the Indian practice session in Bulawayo on Monday with just seven players turning out at the nets.

The thumping nine-wicket win over Zimbabwe on Sunday must have given the side tremendous confidence but it isn't the case with captain Sourav Ganguly who had the longest stint at the nets.

Desperately in need for a good score, Ganguly was seen asking the bowlers to bowl to him outside the off-stump, the area which has been his nemesis during the last two series.

Any ball which was not on or outside the off-stump frustrated Ganguly as he tried to get his confidence and trademark stylish touch back.

Coach John Wright concentrated on the captain throughout the practice session and was seen offering suggestions to him.

Others who turned out for practice included the four players who joined the team especially for the one-dayers - Virendra Sehwag, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, Dinesh Mongia and Harvinder Singh - and seamer Debashish Mohanty and off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
