Carter signs new two-year deal with Northants
Robin Reid - 28 June 2001

Northamptonshire's Director of Cricket, Bob Carter, has agreed a new two-year deal with the club.

Carter, 41, returned to Wantage Road before the 1999 season after two previous spells with the county – as a player (1978-82) and coach (1985-95).

The extension to his contract, agreed during the close season, will keep him at Northampton until at least the end of 2003.

"Since I've been back we've had a couple of good summers, and although this year hasn't gone well so far I'm confident we can turn it around," said Carter.

"I believe there is still a big job for me to do with Northamptonshire."
