Kumar Dharmasena
Wisden CricInfo staff - June 27, 2001

Wisden overview
Late in 1998, the international career of Dharmasena, an integral member of the World Cup winning team, looked over when he was reported to ICC with a suspect action and dropped pending remedial work. He was the second Sri Lankan offspinner after Muttiah Muralitharan to have his action queried. But he was also the second to recover: two years later he returned to Tests and one-dayers. He has yet to make a real impact in his second life though: his best effort is a half-century in an unsuccessful rearguard against England at Kandy. His form in domestic cricket did not suffer: he did the 500 runs/35 wickets double in 1998-99 (when he led Bloomfield to the Premier Trophy) and 1999-2000. Simon Wilde
