BKSP is Standard Chartered Grindlays School Champions
Shahryar Khan - 1 March 2001

BKSP, the eminent sports training institute of Bangladesh has proved their worth once again by becoming the 19th School champions, defeating Scholastica by 173 runs in a one sided final at BNS today.

BKSP put up a huge total on the board with a fine knock from Nayeem who scored an unbeaten 110. He was supported by Rubaiat and Scholastica's half-a-dozen dropped catches. Rubaiat played a typical pinch-hitter role to score 67 of just 30 balls. His stormy innings ended when he tried to hoist the ball over mid-wicket and Saif took a spectacular catch. His innings included seven fours and four massive sixes. At the end of the allotted 35 overs, BKSP gathered 270 for the loss of three wickets. Both batsmen were dropped several times.

Facing a tough target of 271, the Scholastican batsmen lost wickets at regular intervals. The run rate was also poor. Only three batsmen reached double figures. Extras with 34 provided the highest score to the total. Scholastica ultimately were all out for 97 off 32.4 overs. Nazmul and Nadif were the most successful bowlers and captured three wickets each. Nayeem was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
