Bahutule, Kulkarni named in the Indian squad for Chennai Test
15 March 2001

The national selectors made three changes in the Indian team for the third and deciding Test against the Australians to be played at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai from March 18-22. Injured Indian speedster Javagal Srinath who missed the Kolkata Test returns back into the side along with Mumbai's left arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni and leg spinner Sairaj Bahutule. They replace Venkatesh Prasad, Venkatapathy Raju and Ashish Nehra. The selectors have also named two standbyes - Debashish Mohanty and Samir Dighe for Javagal Srinath and Nayan Mongia.

The team: SC Ganguly (capt), SS Das, S Ramesh, SR Tendulkar, R Dravid, VVS Laxman, HK Badani, NR Mongia (wk), Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh, Javagal Srinath, Sarandeep Singh, Sairaj Bahutule and Nilesh Kulkarni.
