Notts award benefit to all-rounder Tolley
Notts media Release - 21 March 2001

Notts have rewarded the loyal services of popular all-rounder Chris Tolley by awarding him a benefit season in 2002.

Tolley has been involved in county cricket for 14 years having spent nine seasons with Worcestershire before moving to Notts in 1996.

The 33-year-old was a major player in the Notts Outlaws promotion-winning campaign last summer, playing in 13 of the 16 matches.

Though he remains on the playing staff he took on a new role this winter after being appointed as the club's Cricket Development Officer responsible for developing Notts' elite squad of youngsters.

Cricket Manager Clive Rice said: "Chris has been a worthy servant of the club for a number of years and his performances, particularly in one-day cricket, have been extremely valuable.

"We now hope he will continue his excellent work by finding some Notts players of the future in his new role.

"He has achieved a lot by being capped by both Notts and Worcestershire and I wish him every success next season."
