Injury forces Brooke Walker out of third Test - Grant Bradburn recalled
New Zealand Cricket - 25 March 2001

A shoulder injury sustained while playing club cricket yesterday has ruled Brooke Walker out of the final National Bank Series Test match at the eleventh hour.

Grant Bradburn has been recalled as replacement.

Chairman of selectors, Sir Richard Hadlee, said the injury sustained by Walker was incredibly unlucky and very disappointing for all involved.

"I understand that Brooke popped his shoulder while bowling for Howick-Pakuranga in Auckland yesterday. It was incredibly unlucky and very frustrating for Brooke, the team and the selection panel.

"The selectors have recalled Grant Bradburn. Grant had no luck in the second Test and struggled on the Jade Stadium pitch, however WestpacTrust Park is his home ground and he will know what he needs to do on that wicket."

Bradburn joins the CLEAR Black Caps assembly in Hamilton this morning. The team is scheduled to practice at WestpacTrust Park between 2-4pm this afternoon.
