Ganguly hints at contract system for players
18 May 2001

Indian captain Sourav Ganguly indicated on Friday that a "contract" system for Indian players is likely to take a final shape after three more meetings with BCCI officials.

Asked by reporters as to what sort of contract he has asked from the BCCI, Ganguly initially parried the question, saying: "It's too early to say anything. You will come to know at the right time."

Asked subsequently as to what kind of deal the players would like to have, he said: "I don't know. We spoke preliminary things. We have to be three more meetings (with the BCCI). There are a lot of things to be said. It's too early to say anything."
