ODI at Cardiff is a sell out!
Andrew Hignell - 18 May 2001

Glamorgan County Cricket Club confirmed today that the One-Day International between Australia and Pakistan in Cardiff on Saturday 9th June is now a sell out.

Chief Executive Mike Fatkin said: "We're naturally delighted to have sold all of the tickets for the game next month. This is, apart from the World Cup game we hosted in 1999, our first experience of formal international cricket and the response from the public has been tremendous. Things are taking shape on the ground already and we're all looking forward to the game itself."

" Its fantastic news for Glamorgan and just goes to show that there is plenty of interest out there. It will be the biggest game the Club will have staged in its 113 year history and its very satisfying to know that it will be witnessed by a capacity crowd of just under 10,000 spectators. These are very exciting times for Glamorgan and all credit to the staff who have co-ordinated the ticket sales and the club`s Marketing Department in making sure that the match didn't escape anyone's notice."

In order to accommodate the 10,000 spectators, there will be no car parking available the Sophia Gardens ground on the day of the game. There are other parking facilities nearby and in the city centre, in addition to the excellent public transport network in the city.

Gates will be open on the day of the game from 8.45am, and the club strongly advises spectators to arrive early in order to avoid the inevitable queues. Spectators will also not be allowed to bring alcohol into the ground.
