Sebastianites win the Premier Plate competition

Sebastianites Cricket and Athletic club won the Premier League Plate competition today when they defeated the Police by eight wickets. Earlier in the season they won the Under 23 Premier League Plate competition as well.

Their victory this weekend was largely due to the all round efforts of Dinusha Fernando and Nimesh Perera. Sebastianites bowled out the Police for 166 in their first innings with Fernando taking four wickets and Perera three. Sebastianites then replied with 277 thanks to 54 from Perera and 56 from Fernando. In their second innings the Police were bowled for 138, leaving a target of just 35 runs. Dinusha Fernando took 10 wickets in the match after taking six for 53 in the second innings.
