Vincent and Martin named in CLEAR Black Caps side for third Test
New Zealand Cricket - 28 November 2001

Test debutant batsman Lou Vincent and fast-medium bowler Chris Martin have been named in the CLEAR Black Caps side to meet Australia in the third Test in Perth on Friday (30 November).

Vincent has been called into the team to open the batting in the place of Matthew Bell who has been struggling with his form on tour so far.

Martin has been brought in to replace Daryl Tuffey who is still recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained in the second Test.

The CLEAR Black Caps team to play the third Test is:

Stephen Fleming (captain)
Nathan Astle
Shane Bond
Chris Cairns
Chris Martin
Craig McMillan
Adam Parore
Mark Richardson
Mathew Sinclair
Daniel Vettori
Lou Vincent
Glen Sulzberger (12th man)

Coach Denis Aberhart says the side has been named early to allow the selected players to fully concentrate on their build-up for the third Test.

"We felt in this instance it would be easier for the team to focus solely on its preparation for the third Test if we alleviated any speculation by naming the team early," he said.
