O'Connor injury not serious
Wisden CricInfo staff - November 10, 2001

BRISBANE (Reuters)
New Zealand medium-pace bowler Shayne O'Connor has been cleared of serious injury but will not bowl again in the first Test.

O'Connor was in some doubt for the rest of the tour after aggravating a knee injury on Friday, but an ultrasound test showed the problem was not as bad as feared.

However, New Zealand manager Jeff Crowe said O'Connor would not bowl or field again during the Test, although he might bat if required. "It's nowhere near as badly damaged as we first thought, so Shayne will continue on the tour with daily rehabilitation," said Crowe.

O'Connor had bowled just two balls of his 18th over when rain disrupted play on Friday afternoon, but he did not return when play recommenced. Left-arm seamer O'Connor has had problems with his knee before, but looked to have the injury under control.
