Zimbabwe look to the heavens
Wisden CricInfo staff - November 11, 2001

Zimbabwe's hopes of recording their first away win for almost three years were put on hold as heavy rain left the outfield at the Bangabandhu National Stadium underwater and prevented any play on the fourth day. "We waited until tea-time, and finally decided to call off the game for the day," match referee Hanumant Singh told reporters.

Bad light had ended the third day's play early, with Bangladesh still 199 runs short of avoiding an innings defeat and only seven second-innings wickets remaining. But grey skies and drizzle gave them an outside chance of saving this match.

The respite, however, might be temporary; the rain is forecast to die away overnight and give way to cloudy but dry conditions.
