Wisden CricInfo staff - November 14, 2001

CHITTAGONG, Bangladesh (Reuters)
Zimbabwe named Stuart Carlisle as captain for the second Test against Bangladesh after Brian Murphy flew home with a fractured hand. Gray Brent replaced Murphy, who left for Harare after fracturing his left hand during last week's first Test in Dhaka. Carlisle said he was optimistic about winning the series 1-0 after the first Test ended in a rain-affected draw. "Continuous rain in the last two days stole our victory that we were eagerly looking for," Carlisle said. Bangladesh made two changes in their squad for the second Test, recalling former captain and batsman Akram Khan and medium pacer Mohammad Sharif. Akram replaced all-rounder Khaled Mahmud and Sharif came in for Monjurul Islam, who took two wickets in the first Test. Bangladesh (from): Naimur Rahman (capt), Akram Khan, Aminul Islam, Javed Omar Belim, Mohammad Ashraful, Habibul Bashar, Khaled Masud, Enamul Hoque, Al-Shahriar, Manjurul Islam, Mohammad Sharif, Khaled Mahmud, Mashrafee bin Mortuza, Fahim Muntasir. Zimbabwe Stuart Carlisle (capt), Andy Flower, Dion Ibrahim, Trevor Gripper, Grant Flower, Craig Wishart, Douglas Marillier, Heath Streak, Travis Friend, Gary Brent and Henry Olonga.
