CLEAR Black Caps Test side named
New Zealand Cricket - 7 November 2001

The CLEAR BLACK Caps team to play Australia in the first Test in Queensland at the Gabba, starting tomorrow is:

Stephen Fleming (captain)
Nathan Astle
Matthew Bell
Chris Cairns
Craig McMillan
Dion Nash
Shayne O'Connor
Adam Parore
Mark Richardson
Mathew Sinclair
Daniel Vettori

Daniel Vettori, Adam Parore and Dion Nash, who have all had injuries of varying degrees while on the current tour of Australia, were assessed by the New Zealand Cricket medical team after today's training and have been declared fit to play.

Coach Denis Aberhart said he is delighted to have a full strength side available, but knows his team will still have to be playing to best of their ability if they are to compete with the world champion Australians.

"I have no doubt in my mind that we have the talent to compete with this Australian side. But the pressure we apply has to be relentless and our execution has to be precise for the full five days. It's really up to the players now, they are all looking forward to the challenge and I know they'll give a good account of themselves."
