Lehmann nominated for Yorkshire captaincy
CricInfo - 9 November 2001

Yorkshire are expected to name Darren Lehmann as their new captain later this month.

If nominated, the 31-year-old Australian batsman will be the county's first-ever overseas skipper. He was unanimously nominated by the Yorkshire cricket sub-committee to succeed David Byas.

It is expected that Lehmann will be confirmed as captain of the the CricInfo Championship title holders at a committee meeting on November 28.

Lehmann told the Yorkshire Post: "I have not yet been officially approached, but I am aware of the situation and I will be delighted to accept the offer when it comes."
