Final four decided for Yoplait Cup

Epsom Girls' Grammar School, Napier Girls' High School, New Plymouth Girls' High School and Burnside High School will contest the semi-finals of the annual Yoplait Cup tournament for secondary schoolgirls.

The tournament will be played at Manawaroa Park in Palmerston North from December 9-11.

Epsom Girls' won their place by beating Westlake Girls' by six wickets. Westlake scored 188/6 in 40 overs. B Manners scored 104 not out. Epsom Girls' took only 29 overs to reach 189/4 with R Kember scoring 108 not out and C Bristow 31.

In a reduced overs game Matamata College scored 73/7 in 35 overs lost to Napier Girls' who didn't lose a wicket when passing their target in 23 overs for a 10-wicket win.

New Plymouth Girls' scored 166/4 in 40 overs with T Street 40 not out and beat St Mary's College of Wellington who were dismissed for 44 in 20 overs. A Waugh took four for three.

Burnside High School batted first against Timaru Girls' High School and scored 188/5 with L Brown scoring 39, S Coghlan 39 and M Goodall 32 not out. TGHS scored 162/7 with M Fahey finishing 110 not out to take a 26-run victory.

Earlier, Westlake Girls' beat Whangarei Girls' Epsom Girls' beat Diocesan, Matamata College beat Taumarunui High School, New Plymouth Girls' High School beat Nga Tawa College, Napier Girls' beat Tauranga Girls', St Mary's College beat Wellington Girls' and Burnside High beat Marlborough Girls' College.
