Lancashire sign Law for 2002
Media Release - 15 November 2001

Lancashire County Cricket Club is pleased to announce the signing of Australian international batsman, Stuart Law as their overseas player for 2002.

Law, 33, joins Lancashire after a spell with Essex where he maintained a batting average of around 50 and was the County Championship's leading run scorer in 1999. He also attained success with his native Queensland team, leading them to victory in the Sheffield Shield and is best remembered at Lancashire for the three centuries he scored in three days against the Red Rose County during June in 2001.

Lancashire Cricket Manager, Mike Watkinson said: "I am delighted that Stuart has agreed to join Lancashire. He is a world-class player with a proven record in County Cricket and has expressed an ambition to do well for the County, whilst assisting in the development of our younger promising players."

From his Brisbane home, Law said: "I am delighted to be joining a county with such long traditions and I am really looking forward to playing a big part over the next two years. I only wish the season started next week!"
