Sydney (Reuters)
Don Bradman's ashes have been scattered over the Oval named after him in Bowral near Sydney.

Bradman's son John and three grandchildren took part in the ceremony which included 60 invited guests, an Australian television report said.

Bradman died in his Adelaide home in South Australia on February 25 this year, aged 92. He was cremated during a family service on March 1.

Born in Cootamundra in New South Wales in 1908, Bradman was raised in Bowral, 50 miles south-west of Sydney.

He made his first century in 1920 for Bowral High School against Mittagong.

Bradman scored 6996 runs in 52 Tests at an average of 99.94, a record which is unrivalled in cricket.
