Chatfield announced as third selector
Cricket Wellington - 12 October 2001

Cricket Wellington Chief Executive Erv McSweeney today announced former Wellington and New Zealand seam bowler Ewen Chatfield as the third selector for the State Wellington Firebirds. Chatfield replaces the unavailable Bruce Taylor and joins current members, State Firebirds coach Vaughn Johnson and Greg Hooper on the panel.

McSweeney said "Chat's experience both domestically and internationally will be valuable, as will his recent involvement as a senior club coach. He is well known for his down to earth, hard working qualities, and it is these attributes which will be of great assistance to the current members of the selection panel".

Chatfield's first assignment will be to be part of the selection panel responsible for picking two teams to play in a three-day trial at the Basin Reserve beginning Sunday November 4.
