All One-Day Internationals v England will be day/night games
New Zealand Cricket - 15 October 2001

New Zealand Cricket today confirmed that all five of the One-Day Internationals between the CLEAR Black Caps and England in The National Bank Series will be day/night matches.

All matches will start at 2.00pm.

Any match deferred to the Reserve Day will become a day game with play starting at 10.30am.

The matches are:

Wednesday 13 - Jade Stadium, Christchurch
Thursday 14 - Reserve Day

Saturday 16 - WestpacTrust Stadium, Wellington
Sunday 17 - Reserve Day

Wednesday 20 - McLean Park, Napier
Thursday 21 - Reserve Day

Saturday 23 - Eden Park, Auckland
Sunday 24 - Reserve Day

Tuesday 26 - Carisbrook, Dunedin
Wednesday 27 - Reserve Day

New Zealand Cricket chief executive, Martin Snedden, said the weekday games had always been designated as day/night games but no decision had been taken on the two weekend matches at Auckland and Wellington.

"After consultation with Auckland Cricket and Cricket Wellington we have decided that the One-Day Internationals against England at Eden Park and the WestpacTrust Stadium respectively should be day/nighters.

"The reasoning is that a day/night game allows spectators more flexibility in their travel arrangements and the changing environment adds to the excitement of the match," Snedden said.

The CLEAR Black Caps play five One-Day Internationals against England before contesting a three Test match series.
