NZ Cricket expands its communications team
New Zealand Cricket - 18 October 2001

New Zealand Cricket has announced the appointment of Simon Wilson as Media Liaison Officer for the CLEAR Black Caps. The appointment takes effect as of Monday 22 October.

Mr Wilson is filling the former role of Michelle Lewis, who is moving within New Zealand Cricket to the newly created position of Public Affairs Manager.

New Zealand Cricket CEO, Martin Snedden, said adding a new member to New Zealand Cricket's communications team was a reflection of the organisation's commitment to further facilitating relationships with the media.

"Simon will be solely looking after the CLEAR Black Caps, which is a challenging assignment," said Mr Snedden.

"His appointment will free up Michelle, allowing her to take on a broader communications and media relations role within New Zealand Cricket."

Based in Christchurch, Mr Wilson's role will be the first point of contact for all media requirements relating to the CLEAR Black Caps, including player contact, and he will travel with the team for The National Bank Series in New Zealand and selected overseas tours.

Mr Wilson can be contacted on:

Office - 03 366 2964 ext 227
Mobile - 021 888 287.

Mr Wilson joins New Zealand Cricket from Professional Public Relations where he was part of its corporate team.
