Richard Walsh - 13 September 2001

Over the next few weeks a number of celebrations are planned following the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy victory at Lord's earlier this month.

On Friday evening a civic reception is taking place in Taunton, where players and officials will meet the Mayor of Taunton Deane, Mrs Mary Whitmarsh.

Next Tuesday a lunch is being hosted by Somerset County Council at The Mount Somerset Hotel at Henlade, where the players will be the guests of honour.

On Friday September 21st a Presentation Dinner is being held at The County Ground, which will be preceded by a Champagne Reception at 7pm. Tickets for this event are available from the club office.

On Tuesday September 25th the Cheltenham and Gloucester Trophy will be paraded by the players at Ashton Gate, before the start of the Bristol City v Tranmere Rovers soccer match, and on Saturday October 6th, before the Heineken Cup match between Bath and Swansea the trophy will be on show at The Recreation Ground.

These are heady days at Somerset, and the players and officials are making the most of celebrating their success.
