PCB upholds RYK protest
Pakistan Cricket Board - 24 September 2001

PCB has upheld a protest lodged by Rahim Yar Khan District Cricket Association against D.G. Khan Association on a serious irregularity and banned its president Ahmed Nawaz Khan for taking part in any cricket activity for a year.

The protest lodged by Rahim Yar Khan, against D.G. Khan, on match played in Rahim Yar Khan on 7 - 8 September, in Under-19 Grade II, tournament was on two counts. One for playing an ineligible player namely Firaz Tariq and another using the name an documents of Nadeem Abbas, who was in the original list of 25 players forwarded by the D.G. Khan.

Which rejecting the first protest, as the concerned player was proved to be correct having been eligible by his birth in the District, the other protest was upheld. The name of Nadeem Abbas was used to put in another player during the match.

The PCB Disciplinary Committee recommended a ban for one year on Mr. Ahmed Nawaz Khan, an action later endorsed by Chairman PCB. Secretary D.C.A, D.G. Khan has been advised to completely bar Mr. Nawaz Khan from any activity whatsoever including advising or consultancy on any cricketing matter.
