The President of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Malcolm Gray has hoped that his visit to Pakistan would help this cricket starved country and the teams would soon resume the tours.

In a letter to the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia, Gray said: "From my point of view I found it (visit to Pakistan) very rewarding as I now have a good understanding of the current situation in Pakistan especially in relation to future tours by the various ICC members."

"The meeting with your (President) General Pervez Musharraf and the range of briefings from the South African, British, Sri Lankan and Australian High Commissioners were exceptionally interesting and helpful."

"I hope that in some small way, the tour visit was helpful to you and the Pakistan Cricket Board."

Gray arrived in Pakistan on a three-day visit on December 5. He met President Musharraf on the same evening, called on various High Commissioners in Islamabad on December 6 before attending the ICC Development Committee meeting at Lahore.

Gray was also full of praise for the hospitality and protocol he received during his tour.
