The Tied Test
Wisden CricInfo staff - February 14, 2002

Click here for the special feature on the Tied Test Welcome to our first multimedia presentation, the forerunner of many that we hope to bring you over the coming months using video and audio material from Britain, Australia and India, as well as the huge Wisden printed archive and the Hulton Getty photographic collection. We will take you behind the headlines of great matches, and also bring you new interviews with big names from the past and present (click here for our Gundappa Viswanath feature).

Our first programme looks back at one of the most famous matches of them all - the epic Tied Test at Brisbane in 1960-61. When the last possible over of the game began, with shadows lengthening at the Gabba, all four results were possible - a win for Australia, victory for West Indies, a draw, or a tie. You can see every ball of the pulsating last over, alongside film of some of the players recalling the fabulous climax.

If you'd like a more leisurely look at the match, you can combine the video footage with the Wisden Almanack's eyewitness report of the match, or read Wisden.com's player pages, many of which have been freshly written.

As a special treat this presentation will be free to everyone until the end of February. But from March 1 only subscribers will be able to see it - click here for details of how to subscribe.
