Henderson, Hayward and Rudolph out

SYDNEY (Reuters)
South African cricket selectors have made three changes to their beaten Test team for the upcoming triangular limited-overs cricket series with Australia and New Zealand.

Jonty Rhodes, Justin Kemp and Charl Langeveldt have all been added to the 16-man squad with Claude Henderson, Mornantau Hayward and Jacques Rudolph omitted from the squad that lost the Test series to Australia.

Despite being comprehensively beaten in the Tests, South African selector Rushdie Magiet said he expected the limited-overs team to fare much better.

"I believe this is the best one-day side in the world and they'll come back," Magiet said.

Allrounder Lance Klusener, player of the tournament at the 1999 World Cup, won by Australia, was recalled to the squad after going home for a week to visit his pregnant wife. Klusener was dropped for the third and final Test at Sydney and allowed to return home to recharge himself before the one-dayers.

"He's one of our best one-day players - he didn't get an option, he has to come back," Magiet said.

The triangular series begins on January 11 and runs for a month with the two best teams meeting in a three-match finals series.

South African squad Shaun Pollock (capt), Nicky Boje, Mark Boucher (wk), Boeta Dippenaar, Allan Donald, Steve Elworthy, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp, Gary Kirsten, Lance Klusener, Charl Langeveldt, Neil McKenzie, Makhaya Ntini, Justin Ontong, Jonty Rhodes.
