ICA agrees to introduce Friday league cricket
Israel Cricket Association - 7 March 2002

Netanya CC will play all their matches in the ICA Division 1 league on Fridays, in accordance with a decision taken by the newly elected ICA Committee. The significance of the move is that it opens up league cricket to religious players, who cannot play on a Saturday, for the first time.

Although difficulties are foreseen with it's implementation in practice, because Friday is a normal work day, this is an extremely positive change to the league structure, that will provide a greater player base and improve the competitiveness of the league.

League games will commence in April, after the Pesach holiday.
