Arran Thompson, of both Lancashire and England women's cricket teams, received the Vodafone Women's Cricket International Performance Award at the Criterion Theatre in London this week.

This prestigious prize was given to Arran, 20, from Barnoldswick, in conjunction with Caroline Atkins from Durham, for their world record 200 partnership in the 1st Women's Test in Lucknow, India earlier this year.

Miss Thompson, currently England's opening batsman, is studying at the Loughborough University Centre of Excellence, under the tutorship of former England fast bowler, Graham Dilley.
