†NEW ZEALAND v PAKISTAN 2000-01
Wisden CricInfo staff - September 11, 2002

At Christchurch, February 25. New Zealand won by 138 runs. Toss: Pakistan.
The home team squared the series through their biggest one-day win over Pakistan after McMillan had hit a maiden one-day international century from 75 balls, equalling Chris Cairns's New Zealand record. With the electronic scoreboard blank throughout their innings, McMillan was not sure how many runs he had – he acknowledged the crowd once, only to find they were cheering his century partnership with Harris – and was still 97 when Saqlain Mushtaq came in to bowl the last ball. Two no-balls and two singles later, McMillan belted the real final delivery over the fence. It was his third six of the over, and fifth in all, to go with six fours. Astle and Twose had earlier shared a century stand to set up a total of 284. Pakistan's reply stalled when they lost a wicket in each of their first three overs. Inzamam-ul-Haq could not bat until No. 7, a groin injury having kept him off the field, and by then his side were 36 for five. He was one of three victims in four balls for Astle as the innings subsided barely halfway to the target. Man of the Match: C. D. McMillan.
