PIA squeak home by 6 runs after a fine 95 by HBL's Taufeeq Umar
Taufeeq's 95 was not sufficient to prevent PIA from winning the National one day tournament. HBL put up a brave fight against (on paper) a stronger PIA side but lost their way after a series of leg before decisions.
Taufeeq and Saleem Elahi (64) led the HBL charge but the rest of their batsmen could not build on the fine start and only Sajid Shah got into double figures. This showed the comeback ability of Wasim Akram (3/27) and Azhar Mahmood (3/75) who both managed to get the ball to nip back and reverse swing in the evening session at Gaddafi Stadium.
